: Stuck helix?

I have the snap ring off, but the helix is stuck. From what I gather from reading the old post here is that it should slide off unless stuck. However I could not find any advice on ways to free it up for removal. *I am sure other people have experienced this, so I thought I would stop and ask before I did something that I regreted.

Any help would be appreciated. http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

You could try tapping with a rubber mallet...that is how we got mine out when it was stuck.

Depends on how bad its stuck *i use some pentrating oil and the removal tool if its really bad. i have had some that i had to let sit for a few days before i could get them out. goodluck

once i had to use a gear puller to get the helix off. one thing i did was take a dremel tool and cut some grease grooves on the inside of the helix.

I had the same problem and i cooled the clutch and then heated the helix with a heat gun and it poped off.
