I was looking at my sled and noticed that the washers behind the seconary clutch are damaged. Not all of them. Just two of three of them have chunks missing out of them and are bent a little. Any idea what would cause this on a 2000 zr600 with 1100 miles??? Clutch is all stock.

Do you have a lot of extra play with the secondary on the shaft? There is suppose to be some, but too much could cause it to slam to the back.

Along those same lines, if the shaft is dry the clutch may not move easily (or the washers) and that could cause things to slam around hard possibly bending the washers. (And you surely don't want the clutch to be stuck on the shaft. BTDT to many times.)

But definitely check the clutches over well and clean them. Replace worn parts and check for wear in the sliding bushings. The secondary has two which are easily replaced. The outer cover in the primary is another that is a common wear part and also quite easily replaced. None of these bushings/bearings is very expensive but the damage that can happen from not replacing them gets spendy quickly. These "little" details can also rob way more power than one might think they could.

Ya, there is quite a bit of travel for the secondary to move on the shaft. The shaft is well greased and moves nice and smooth. I was also wondering if any of the internal parts on the clutch require any lubrication??? You guys seem to agree that just blowing them out will help, but I was just wondering if I should lube anything while im in there?
