I just installed Tempa-flow for this season, so I can't swear by it yet. But why not let the adjustments be made for you instead of by you? That was part of my reasoning.

I purchased the ATACC from Holtzman Engineering, it is the tempa flow and altitude compensator in one.
Check it out at www.holtzmaneng.com or www.fettbrosperformance.com

I have only heard good things about Barry Holtzman, and people who have the tempa flow love it!

I believe they do two different things. the holtzman tempaflow decreases fuel as the temps get warmer. Dial a jets you start lean and they adjust richer. I think that is how they work and I'm sure if not I will hear about it soon. As for your question, the tempaflows work. Most say like a dream, not jetting required. He has a new one out that does the altitude adjusting and the temperature adjusting together. Sounds sweet to me. :D
