I was out riding Sunday with a couple friends hooked up on sleds, when i started to hear a ticking noise when i hit the throttle. This was after riding for about a hour and had about 400 Pounds behind it. So i brought it in and let it sit not knowing what was wrong. I brought the sled out today, and after riding for about 30 Minutes it really started to act up. When i hit the has i heard like a belt squeak every time and felt like i had no power. It also felt like the track was somehow screwed up but i had not done anything besides ride on flat ground. The sled has about 6K miles on it and has always been well maintained. Any ideas what's wrong with it?
Thanks

It seems to me like a new belt would most likely work for you. Pulling weight can really do some damage on belts.

I'd look at both clutches first of all. At 6000 miles, if they've never been maintained, they'll have some wear that needs addressing. If you're lucky, you'll be able to replace a few normal wear parts. If not, you may need to replace a clutch.
I suspect your weights on the primary may be getting pretty loose. There's also a very good chance that you'll find sliding bearings or bushings which are worn and need replacing. Neither of those jobs is daunting, but you need to inspect to make sure worn parts have not gotten away so far that they have done major wear damage to other parts.

Yes, check both clutches with a fine-toothed comb. Replace and adjust all worn parts and replace the belt. Should fix your problem. Good luck.
