just recently bought at '96 xlt sp with a '93 storm 750 engine in it, engine isn't running properly, was sitting for 2 years put new plugs in it started running good but now lasks in power and occaisonly backfires, seems like only running on 2 cylinders, but all have spark, the previous owner bore it out to a 800. once i wiggled the plug wires and started running better but still should be able to get more out of sled, any ideas would be welcomed

if you thing it is running on only two cylinder, you should do a compression test, make sure they are all over 120

i am going to check the compression the next time i get a chance.

i was thinking. the previous owner got the heads shaved 20 thou, i think i might check the timing, my buddy had a 500 indy with a shaved head and it ran fine but lacked in power his timing was off

anyone know the proper timing for a 750 or 800 storm???
