Our machine starts, with difficulty, and then sputters and dies. It almost seems like the choke is stuck on. We've replaced the spark plugs and recently cleaned out the carbs using seafoam to no avail. Any ideas? The last few times that we could get it running long enough to go for a little ride it seemed like it had no power. Now when it does start it emits enough smoke to hide our house! The machine has extremely low kms on it so I don't understand what could be wrong. If anyone has any suggestions we would truly appreciated them!! Thanks
No, we haven't cleaned the pilot jets, neither one of us are very mechanically inclined, so wouldn't even know where the pilot jets are! I will "google" that to see where they are and try cleaning them. Would I use carb cleaner or starting fluid for that?
Take off the bowls and when you look up in there you'll see a brass cylinder with a slot on the end for a screwdriver to take it out. Otherwise go to www.totallyamaha.com There is a section in their tech forum with pics on how to clean the carbs.
