i have a 1988 polaris indy 400 and the brakes quit working the other day while i was riding. i dont know what happened but there is no tension on the brake lever. but when u squeeze it you can see the caliper compress but not all the way plz help.

i bled the brakes and filled it up with brake fluid they work now but are a little spongy still. and also my spedometer and rpm gauge quit working when my brakes did also? idk what happened any answers would be appreciated

If your brakes are still spungy, you might need a new seal in the resavoir, this has happened to me also do to age of sled , as far as the speedometer, there is a break away pin at the bottom of the cable , you can unscew the cabble ,then remove the bolts holding the cover to get at the pin . hope this helps

Spungy Brakes can be air in the line and needs bleed or a master cyclinder rebuild.
Speedo not working. Take the cable off the drive witch is below the secoundery clutch and remove the bolts. If the sheer key is broke check the axel bearing for play.
If the bearing is bad you will need to change it or spend more money latter.
If it is ok then check the speedo cable. Remove it from the back of the speedo gauge and see if it turns freely. As for the tack is it cable driven or Electronic.
