Hey all, I bought a used snow mobile from a dealer about 4 weeks ago. The first night I had it out the motor went... so I took it back to them and they said it was my fault and charged me 500$ to fix.
When I got it back, took it out again and didnt put another 20 miles on it before it blew a second time. Is there anything I can do? Or am I stuck with this lemon of a sled...
Im from New Brunswick, Canada.

Sounds to me like you are getting shafted by the dealer. What kind of reputation do they have?
Did they tell you what was wrong with the engine the first time they rebuilt it? If they didn't find the root cause but just rebuilt it then of course it is going to blow up again...
You can try to raise a stink and get your money back for the whole sled...
Good Luck!

Dont feel bad; I did two different ones two days in a row in January...and I pride myself on keeping them running a long time.
I'd certainly look at all the possible factors including why the engine originally need to be rebuilt, whether it is getting re-broken in properly after rebuild, and whether the conditions it's being ridden in are contributing factors.
I have waited over eight weeks for parts on the second motor which spit (the original?) rings on a 14,000+ mile motor. (I limped that 488 Polaris fanner back 50 miles on one side.....gently!)
The second motor was also a project in patience... and I let students do much of the work. However, I've put 900-plus miles on it in a two week period and it runs perfectly at around 12,000 miles overall. (That 900 miles included one wonderful 340 mile day, much of it on the Yukon River. What a great place to ride for miles!)
There is no reason not to have a well-running motor if you discover the problem, correct it, and later prevent it from happening again. (You might prepare to take some fault. However,do your homework so you aren't made the scapegoat for that which isn't your fault.)
