Hello,

I just bought a 1997 Mach 1 700 about 3 weeks ago and since then have been going over everything as best as I can to find out what I got myself into. I have looked everywhere and I cannot find anything that tells me what the compression should be. Anyone know for sure what the specs are for the engine compression?

should be in the neighborhood of 130 psi with no more than 5% difference between cylinders.anything under 100 psi and nearing 90 psi,is a rebuild

Perfect thanks. I'll be testing that tomorrow to see how it fairs off.

I checked it out the other day. All 3 cylinders read 120 PSI cold. Of course I'm sure my $20 tester from Canadian Tire probably isn't accurate but I think I'm fine due to the fact that all 3 are reading the same.
