I have a 02 zl 550, and noticed a rattle after my last ride, i think it's coming from the primary clutch, should i rebuild it now or can i use it still? thankx

You should rebuild it,
,if it's still working ok you could inspect it and use it for rest of the season if you are easy on it.
If you choose to use it check to make sure the spring isn't cracked or broken and all
the wieghts have even wear.

I'm not taking any chances. I talked to the local cat dealer, the rebuild is already in motion and i have the parts and a guy that will do it too.

Make sure it's only the clutch making the noise. Check the crankshaft for play. Any discernible play there will not only make noises, but indicates serious issues inside.

i replaced the bushings in it and the rattle went away. but thankx anyway.
