I've scoured the snowmobile, and search all over google and cannot find whether my snowmobile is a 2 or 4 cycle engine. I need to know which kind of oil to put in, I suspect it's a 2 cycle but I cannot remember. Why doesn't it just say so on the dumb thing lol? Anyways, it's a Yamaha Phazer PZ480 '86. Thanks for any help.
I don't believe that they made any 4 stroke phazers...my brother had a little newer one, and it was a 500cc 2-stroke! You should have an oil reservoir under the hood and it should take any good brand of snowmobile injector oil.
as far as i know there were no 4 stroke yamaha's produced in the 80's i have a 92 phazer and all i run in it is yama lube avalable at your local yamaha dealer there should be a resivor under the hood that says OIL or 710 if its upside down all that you need to do is keep it filled and check it every time before you ride or fuel up also i recomend using a fuel that dosent have ethenol added to it
2 stroke , 2 cylander , castrol is the best oil btw , or amsoil , WHATEVER YOU DO dont use CT oil!!! might as well pour sand in your engine!!
any more questions let me know! i love those phazers and have had 5 or 6 and have done nearly every repair!
