I bought a 2001 polaris xc 600 a couple of years ago. When i got the sled it had never seen snow (grass drag sled). The temp sending unit was blocked off and the sending unit was laying on the belly pan. I put it back in thinking that it would be ok. I was thinking about it the other day and tried jumping the wires to make the light come and nothing happened. So i checked the bulb and it was gone. So i put a good bulb in it and still nothing and yes i check it each time with the sled running. Does anyone know what else i could check or know where i can get a wiring diagram. Any help would be great. They also had a wire that went from one of the open plugs in the gauge area that tied into the temp wiring that came all the way back to the handle bar area. It had some gauges on it from what i understand.

Thanks again Shawn

One of the two wires going to the sensor should have power when running the other should go the the light or grd.
The temp sensor is probably wrong ,he may have put a temp gauge on the handle bars instead of a light(different type of sensor)

Just remembered, they had exhaust temps that i had to plug off. As for the sensor in the head it was just plugger off with a allen pipe plug.

I called the guy that had the sled originally(dealer). He said that when the engine gets hot it goes into a limp mode(won't run over 4500rpms) and then the light will come on. I figure i'd post what i found out.
