Okay i need to know a few things. how much a decent one is worth, how fast it goes, how good is the suspension, how good is it in powder, and does it ride smooth? specifically about the suspension i need to know if it would hold up if i hit small jumps or went off snow bank with it. cause thats what the area is like where im at and i want to buy one. info as soon as possible would be great. thanks guys

Well for one, its a 1989 and we are talking 22yrs old of a sled. 22yrs has gone by and the suspension technology has improved alot from its time on a much newer models. As for the Indy 400 - I used to have that same sled - great running sled which runs forever and rides pretty decent for what it is. It should hold up pretty well going over small bumps but its not made to be jumping over snowbanks. I wouldnt recommend that and have the sled break to cut the season short. Just my 2cents. WL
the 89 400 was an ok sled,, about 65-70mph down hill, good and reliable, trail sled if you are young the suspension is ok it would take a 2(on hard snow)-3( to soft snow) foot jump without bottoming.
worth about $400 - $800..
being old it it probably needs about $500 in clutch parts, drive bearings, drive chain, shocks/spring,fuel lines, etc.
up grades: you could bolt in a rear suspension from a 95+ sled($200) and you would be set for jumping
If you do jump alot check the suspension bolts for loosness every ride.
I 'd pass on it and sepend $1300 on a 95+ indy 500
or get a 99 440 race sled for $1400
