What was the deal again to make these things rock? I remeber something about shorter carb boots, a y-pipe mod and the 501 rotary valve (was it the y-pipe mod that some say wasn't a good idea?). A friend has a 98 and he was interested in some cheap performance mods and a good clutching setup to make it fly.

Yeah..put on the 501 rotary valve, short carb boots. Goodwin makes an excellent clutch kit, but if you talk nice, I'm sure that some of the clutching gurus on this site will give you their second best setup http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/tounge.gif (or maybe their best, depending on how far away you live http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif )
* * * * * I wouldn't do that Y-Pipe mod.

You said maybe someone will be nice and give out their best clutch setup depending on how far away I lived.

RockZ, you might want to send Idooski on this forum an instant message, or wait for him to reply. *He had 98 670 that ran real well with some mods.
