My son recently bought this sled. It ran great for the first 30-40 minutes and then started bogging down. We cleaned the carbs, pulled and cleaned the tank, put in new gas, and tried again. It runs better, but now the TORS light comes on and off. When the light is on, there is virtually no power whatsoever. Does anyone know what this is, and what can we do to fix it? Any info or help is greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ed
1st thing is to disconnect the tors. I heard of sledders running an entire season with the tors disabled.
If that no work, you might try removing the air box & making sure there is no snow or debis at the bottom of the carb intake throat-there are two hole there & they need to be open.
The sled may have a fuel filter and came factory with an injection oil filter. Check those. Light air blown thru signals they are ok. Blow the air reverse of what the liquid flows.
Also, both the fuel tank and the oil tank have breather tuibes. Make sure they are not obstructed.
Keep watching this thread as i will more than likely think (remember) of more. Getting old, ah hell, sometimes forgetting stuff is good.
Good luck
Throttle override system. Was put in place in case something would go wrong with either end of the throttle cable system.
This happened to me after cleaning carbs and replacing handlebars.
If you had the carbs all the way apart the switch on the carbs needs to be readjusted. Use an ohm meter to check continuity of the carb switch. When the throttle lever is closed the switch should have continuity, When you start to crack the throttle it should switch to no continuity.
If that checks out look for something not letting both ends of the throttle go back to thier free conditions.
On mine I found the lever at my oil pump was sticking open letting the cable for it buckle under the throttle lever, not letting it go back to its at rest condition. I lubed the oil pump lever and took care of the problem.
This is a condition that should not be ignored. It is a safety for the operator. It interrupts the spark pattern keeping the revs @ 2800 to 3000 rpm so if the throttle sticks from icing or something else you don't crash.
Good luck
Thanks for the input, I will check it all out in between plowing the driveway and shovelling the sidewalk. Never thought I would complain about too much snow. Ed
I hope the info helps. If you need more let me know. Have manual.
Send some of that snow here, we have not been able to ride much. We don't ever get enough snow to cover the rough fields and it seems to go away between snows. So no accumulation here. :mad2::unhappy::sad:
