I have a 2001 ZR 800. I was wondering, last year when i put the sled away for the summer, I noticed that my belt was sitting low in my secondary clutch. I looked at my brother's sled(2002 ZR 800 CC) and noticed that his belt sits a little higher. Am I losing power, speed, both, or am I just being anal? Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

All other things being equal you would be starting in a higher ratio. I think you can remove shims in the clutch to have the shives( not sure of spelling)at rest closer together but I'm no expert.

just split the secondary...you should have a total of 4 shims. 2 thin shims and 2 thicker shims. remove what is nessasary so your belt is 1/8th of an inch above the sheeves. or just enough so it doesn't creep on ya at idle.

Try a new belt first, old one just might been worn down. Maybe put your brothers belt on yours and see what happens. :)
