Hi, this is my first time posting. I was given a motor from a polaris cobra 440, I am not sure of the year. I only get a single spark when hitting the kill switch. In other words if I leave the kill switch off (the switch is open). I pull the engine over, hit the kill switch then get a single spark on both plugs. Is this a problem with the CDI or a problem with the hall sensor. The spark is a good bright blue. Any suggestions on what to check next would be greatly appreaciated.

Stator, CDI, or kill switch. Disconnect the kill switch (this bypasses it) and try it again. If this doesn't solve the problem, you will need to test (or have a dealer test) your CDI and stator.

It has been warm enough to work on the machine outside, don't have a place to get in. Turns out that the trigger wire comming from the stator was grounding on the motor caseing. It wasnt difficult to spot once getting the stator out and looking at the lines.
