Last year i had a 1998 XC 600 and it was one of the fastest sleds i have ever rode, i beat up on skidoo 670's that were clutched and piped and gave my buddy on his 03 f7 a good run. It just seemed to have alot of power. This year i was thinking about buying a 1998 XC 700 to see the power difference. Is there a drastic difference in power and if there is, is there any snowmobile out there that would beat a XC 700. I know the polaris xcr 800's would beat it in a straight line probably but on the trails is a XC 700 one of the fastest sleds polaris has ever made?

It is a good one!!
I m thinking not the fastest,,,The polaris tech. guys have added a few more hp in the last 10yrs.
Some reeds, pipes , and tuning might keep it near the top.

it is all in the driver as to how fast the sled is. My prox 600 would walk by 1000 sdi ski doos and newer cats but I also knew how to ride it. Them 700's are fast but you need a good amount if studs like a 144 and 10 inch carbides to get her to start handling awesome. I had a 2000 xc sp 600 and that thing handled like it was on rails
