I cannot believe how tough it is to get the Rosetta stone for the alphabet soup of Polaris models. I am shopping '01-'02 600 or 700.
XC = Cross Country
XCR = Cross Country Race
XC/SP = Cross Country Special Production
What is XC/XP ?
And the real question, how can I tell the XC, XC/SP, and XC/XP apart? I am going to look at an "XC/XP" tomorrow...
XC,,,no rebuildable shocks, no tach,steel skis
XCR ,,,a little extra hp,,rebuildable shocks, tunnel reinforcements, tach.,
xc/sp,,(newer version of the xcr) plus a high octane position on the ignition., plastic skis, and sometimes a track up grade.
proX is a race version best of the best, but you mix your own gas, rides best at WOT
xc/xp,,,is usually a typo, in a sales add. maybe it is a limited edition??

There are 3 pro x versions. Pro x, pro x2 and pro xr. The 440 race sleds were mixed gas not all pro x's and wot doesn't make them ride better. Driving them hard makes them ride nicer there meant for windy trails and ditch banging. All xc and xcr's had tach's for most part, xc usually was twin. Xcr usually was triple except in the xcr 440 case. Xc sp had that stupid fox position sensitive shock in a lot of the sleds
