Hope everyone had a good Christmas,i know there are a lot of questions out there but i bought this '03 550 trailtouring.24 miles on it went thru it completely, got'er running nice sled. With all the negativity on this motor I'm scared to run it! No i'll give'er all shes' got when I break her in. Question i have is when you cruise along at walking speed there sure seems to be a lot of motor pinging or rattling or what if I burp the throttle or increase speed its gone. Now can someone out there give me a straight answer on this.suggesting that is the cdi timing way advanced and can I upgrade it to a different one for the same motor? What is with this engine,does it sound like this? Also I am going to go to a colder plug- BR10 instead of the BR9's they call for. Any body got an answer? Thanks for any help,I'll probably call a dealer and ask them too.Seems the '03 are never mentioned to much for problems just '04 and up.
