I've seen lots of guys talking about reed spacers and would like to know if they are really worth the money. What changes have you guys noticed? I have a '00 700 XC SP.

I would say it depends on the sled.

I tried some on my xcr with minimal success. Gave about 20-25 deg F higher at low RPM (about 30F increase with mid tension Carbon Tech reeds). I ended up trading them and running Boyesen reeds with better success.

The XCR 600 triple/triple was always a problem sled from the factories. It was very short on low-end power, so for me it was good. I doubt the new domestic twins have the same restricted crank profile as the XCR 600. If you don't have low end problems, I would stay away from them. If you do, they offer only slight improvement. Your money could be better spent elsewhere in my opinion.
