I'm looking for an easy clutch set-up that will work great on the trail, while still being able to drag race alittle. Do you guys have any quick setups for a 00' MXZ 700

297 ramps, 53/47 helix 21lbs

This works very well, have it in my sled now,VERY trail friendly and a much smoother shiftout than stock.

287 ramps,50/47 cam @ B6 w/new beige and the 127 belt , adj. clickers for 7900/8100 rpm.

can you exlain the 127 belt. Is it just another belt for the sled, with alittle different dimensions/Rubber? And how does this set-up work for drag racing? Trail riding is my main objective though. I was going to get an mbrp can, but am considering clutching instead for right now. How much would it cost for the ramps, spring helix? * *Thanks for the Help

The 127 beldt is about 3 mph slower on top

SnwPro, right on. *That is a fact, (127) too soft. (067) better belt. * 2000 MXZ 700, here is what worked for me. *Goodwin 215-375 red spring, Goodwin, Blue secondary, 17.4 grams of pin weight, 54-48 Helix, 287 ramps. *This setup rocked 2-3 sled lengths over stock. *If you weigh 170-190lbs. *You will be ok with this setup.

Try a 50/46 helix, new beige spring set @ B-6, 300 ramps, 19.5 grams pins. 200/350 primary spring, clickers @ #3.
Stock gearing. Make sure to use the washer under the snap ring for the secondary clutch. Works for me!

Here is a simple solution. *Stock primary, 067 belt, 50/46 or 50/47 helix on B-6. I prefer the 50/46. It pulled harder out of the hole and had a little more on top. http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

I ran the 127 belt back to back on a lake this past weekend, and saw no difference in top speed, about 110 by the speedo, on a not real hardpacked surface.Have you guys actually tried this belt or just going by what other people have said? Just curious........

As far as racing, I pull my buddies 99MackZ(stock other than 160some pics and EPI clutch kit) out of the hole till about 600-800 feet,and then he slowly goes by me ,and at 100mph he is about 3 lengths ahead.

I put on a new 067 belt about 100 miles ago,and I already think that it's no good. It turned kinda grayish looking on the sides, but it hasn't started to crack or fray. It seems like it is too wide, it wants to grab at an idle. Is this the stock belt? * *I had better luck with belt # 414-8607-00 ofcourse I ruined that one by towing someone through slush

The 127 belt is actually a harder compound than the 067 and 8607. *It just appears softer because of it's flexibility. *I made 2 different kits last year and both used the 127, both kits were about 5-6 sleds faster in 500 ft with snow. *The ones mentioned are a great start.

I think all the 700's reacted differently to clutching.. One 700 locally was running *280 ramps,230-380 primary,18.5 pins and a straight 47 helix and 24-44 gearing and it ran sweet. HERE'S THE ACTUAL SPECS ON THOSE 2 BELTS *#417300067(LENGTH43.84mm and width 35mm new)#417300127(LENGTH 43.78mm and WIDTH36.35mm) THE PITCH IS ALSO DIFFERENT .THE 067 IS 12 DEGREE AND THE 127 IS 12.5 DEGREE.STOCK BELT ON THE 2000 MXZ-700 IS THE 067 ACCORDING TO SKI-DOO SPEC. BOOK.DOES ANYONE KNOW OF A GOOD SET-UP FOR A 2002 MXZ-700.
