From a Cat man, please explain the new REV sled. *Does it refer to the frame or skid or motor? *What does REV stand for? *I looked on Doo's web site and didn't see anything on it? *I understand from your posts that it is the sled that Morgan is riding for his Open sled, and I know it has a copy Cat front suspension, but help a brother out and explain it for me. *Thanks

'REV' refers to the chassis it is sitting on. It is not a 'copy' of the cat front suspension, but an improvement on the theory.

MachZ, I saw that picture and the posts under it is what inspired my post. *But when you say REV is going to replace the ZX for the MXZ, then you are implying that the ZX is the chasis for the MXZ? *Look at the black MXZ's in the background of that picture, do you think they are 2003 MXZ's? *http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif

Yes the ZX is the chassie and so is the REV.

THe ZX will remain in the zx in the 500 and 700 cc engines.

The rev will get a 600 H.O. and the 800.

I don't see any choke lever. Does this mean that DFI has finally arrived in a snowmobile? We can only hope.

It's replacing the x's and REV is short for Revolting.

Just saw a race last night *with the new REV's. These things fly. *It was an indoor race on speedvision's High Octane. *The rev came out of the hole on the far side passed everyone like they were standing still !!! *I am impressed now. http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

That last post was from me. I didn't know Ladyk logged in. *These REV's are starting to look sweeter all the time. *Much more than the *yammi RX-whatever is.

Does not look like it will be DFI. Looks like the choke lever is on the right side in this pic.

There is a lot of hype for this REV. *Please tell me if I'm wrong, but aren't a lot of what the REV has, the new sno pro has? *Is it that the REV is that much better?

The basic ideas are the same. *Less parts, multitasking components, and centralized mass. *They both now have A-arm front ends, lower, pushed back motors, higher seats, and forward riding positions. *I don't remember as much hype about the sno-pro when they announced it before the race season. *Is it that it is doing better in the races? *I think we see that Blair is big factor in that! *How much does the REV weigh in the 500 to 700 class. *Will it compare to the new Firecat??

Please try to be honest and don't let your brand loyalty get the best of you in your answers. *http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif

Which Sno-pro are you talking about? The 2002 or did they release the 2003? I go with whoever has the best sled the year I decide to buy. *If you are talking about the 2002 Sno-pro it still has the seated back position. The thing I like about the REV is you sit on it like a motorcycle or a 4-wheeer, with much more control.

Well, the 2003 firecat will be in the same chassis as the 2002 sno pro that was raced. *I think that it isn't as far forward as the REV, but it is farther foward than the ZR chassis.

I was just able to get onto Ski doo site for a few minutes and the new sleds are on there. *I was looking at the REV pages and lost connection and it told me that the page was unavaiable. *I guess they are still updating it or they are being overloaded with hits. *Keep checking the site. *The black looks great, but man does it look similar to the sno pro and the viper. *I guess all sleds will start looking similar.

One BIG difference is the pyrimidal chassis, looks very stong. *Another is the steering colum is ove the engine allowing the engine to be placed way back in the chassis. *Check out doo's website again, there are so many Differences between the rev and the 2002 sno-pro its not funny. *It's like night and day! *As far as styling goes, I think it looks sharp and I think it looks rather unique in its own way. *The 2002 sno pros have a little viper style in them too. http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif

We don't have to throw away our 15 inch speed tracks and deep lugged tracks, as they all still fit the Rev, the rear end will be lighter to throw around than Sno-Pro, An inch more rear travel than Sno-Pro (14.5") better patented ski's, super easy clutching and accessibilty. You sit 12 inches forward, so you are pivoting on bumps, not a big part of them. On the Cat you are 9 inches further back, and have less suspension. *http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif Rer, not Available on Cat, plus our brakes won't be rusting and freezing up as easy. Why does Cat keep a 8 and 900 twin if this Firecat is so hot, they are kicking themselves in the butt. Those barely used 8 and 900's, will be a dime a dozen.
