Looking at buying a 2000 ZR 600 carb. Has anyone had any problems with them? What should I look for?

Thanks
Dan

:) Good reliable sled, somewhat low fuel economy and not the quickest 600 in the class. With a good clutch kit (Goodwyn..never Black Magic) and jetting down both performance and economy will increase nicely.
Great choice, enjoy.

they suck fuel compared to the fei with the apv on the 2001s. my 01 zr 600 is good on fuel, my wifes 00 carb drinks fuel.

I have an 02 carbed 500 and an 02 E.F.I. 600. Two totally different machines yes, but the E.F.I. way out performs the carbed

I have a 00ZR6Efi and I find I use a lot of fuel. But that all depends on weather you have it pinned all the time. Its a 2 stroke they are supposed to use a lot of gas. :p

I have a '99 ZL600 carbs, and my bud had a '99 ZR600 EFI...Got a good feel for both sleds...Without a doubt, the carbed sled uses a LOT more fuel than the EFI...But the carbed sled has more 'low end' than the EFI (particularly noticable when blasting out of a turn)....I felt that the EFI sled had a better mid-range powerband, to go with the superior mileage...Plus, it could take me 15-20 pulls to start my carbed sled on a cold morning, compared to his (EFI) 2 pulls...The miniscule performance advantage of the carbs is more than offset by the reliability & economy of the EFI setup....My next sled will be EFI :D

Cat changed some internal carb parts
2000-pj 35 2001-pj 40
mix screw same
slide cut same
needle 9EGYO1 -57-3 9DFH4-60-3
MAINS 350 330

These differences could be why the difference in fuel milage
the pipe is also a different part #, cat has done this for as long as I've
been dealing with them, changing problems the next year without
letting us know with a bullitin, usually fuel milage is made in the
0 - 1/2 throttlle pos. Double check the part # on brownsleisureworld.com :)
