When going thru my carbs my mainjets in the the carbs were 480's. When I looked up the original jetting from the factory it is 440. I do not have a clutch cover with the jet sizes/temps/altitudes listing on it- so I am sort of at a loss. Doesn't that seem odd? to be 4 sizes LARGER then factory? What are your thoughts?
Factory pipes....by the way....

Come on guys! Anyone have any ideas? No T-cat riders here? '94-97 should all be the same or close at least.....

I had a 94 t-cat and I ran 410 mains all the time and never had a problem in the 4 years I owned it.( most reliable sled I ever owned )

Tony, call your local dealer and ask what the spec is, they should be able to still look it up.

This would all depend on several things.
1. What altitude are YOU at?
2. Running oxygenated/blended fuels?
3. Any fuel system mods done to the sled? (i.e. bored carbs, airbox removed, gutted?)
I too had a 94 T-cat and successfully ran 410 mains. BUT, this doesn't mean that YOU can. Check your piston wash and plug color and jet from there.

I am operating the sled at sea level or close to it, pump gas 92 octane and it appears that the previous owner gutted the air box (took the cones out). No other engine mods (that I know off) were done to the sled.
Gonna just have to get a variety of jets and play some. Does anyone ever run different jets in different cylinders? Some polaris do this on their triples so I was wondering if this is common with AC?
Thanks,
Tony

The gutted airbox is suspect. Start out high then come down to be safe. There's no telling how high you might need to be.
Jet down slowly based on wash and plugs. Check at 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and full.
It is common to see a jet size difference on high-performane engines though I don't see how you will be able to tell what you need by wash and plugs alone.
