robschmidt 02-06-2002, 11:53 AM I have removed the oil pump on my 583 motor. Do I run a hose from the nipple on the bottom of the case up to a "T" fitting- then over to nipple above rotary valve cover and fill with oil??? seems like it is taking a lot of oil. *Please let me know greygoat 02-06-2002, 09:15 PM robschmidt * most guys here just run a clear hose from the bottom of the crank case to the top of the rotary cover make sure it is about half to 3/4 full of oil and check every once in a while as it will go down.
