Hey guys, got this little problem with the shifting of my primary clutch. My sled is a 1995 formula stx 583 modifyed, with cudney clutch kit. Because of the mods, I had to change the pins in the clutch from hollow to full because of to much rpm (about 10000 with stock pins and clicker at 1). The sled now is way better then last year in accel and power, but the clutch does not close all the way, I have a little more then 3/4 of an inch left between top of belt and the clutch edge when the engine is at top rpm. What did I doo rong http://www.snowmobileworld-s2.com/forums/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif

If you ask me it sounds like you have everything right. First off you do not want the clutch to full shift because the last inch of your primary is overdrive and is very unefficent. If you want to get full shift than play with the gearing.

Secondary may be way *to tight which would explain the over rev.

Take a fish scale and check how many pounds to start opening up your secondary. That might give us an idea for where your at.
