While greasing the front end of my 99 600mxz I found that the rt front shock had lost all its dampening. Called the local dealer to see about the cost to have the shocks done [$40. for recharging $65.00 rebuilding]. My question is do the hpg shocks normally take more than just a recharge? Hoping to go to a rev next season don't want to waste a lot of money on the 99. Also is the front shock in the rear skid rechargeable? Thanks for your input Jay

If they are HPGs they should all be rebuildable. Mine were good inside, just put in fresh fluid and recharded them. Can't realy tell what they need till you get them apart.

it is my understanding that you can get them "re-charged" and if there are worn seals, or valveing or something then they need to be "re-built" if your dealer is reputable they will tell you if you just need a recharge i.e. new oil and nitrogen, or if there is something wrong or worn internally they need to be "re-built" one does cost more than the other and a re-build is not always neccessary.
