I have been tossing around the idea of buying a BM speedo but got to thinking, why not just get a new/used speedo form any of the other sled mfgs. that already have speedos that go to 120mph+. Do they take a different key, mount to the drive shaft differently, would it be a direct replacement? I'm sure it was easy or posible more people would have tried this, but I haven't heard of anyone doing this.

It would work but you have to use the whole kit and kabudle. Use their adaptor that goes with the same size drive sprockets on your ZR.

I don't know of another O.E.M. speedo will work or not. I bought the Black Magic speedo for my ZR 900. I don't understand why Cat speedos only go to 100 mph :cussing:. The Black Magic was $160.00 Can. delivered to my door, but it is worth it.

My thoughts exactly! They at least could have put the same speedo/tach setup as on the F-cats. ???
How accurate is the BM speedo anyway?? Can't be any worse than OEM!haha
