Whats eveyone think of these trail permit stickers we have been getting here in Ontario since 2000.I thought it was just gonna be a millenium thing and they would go back to the normal little size.We all fought and complained about using the big license sticker from the ministry but I swear these trail permits are soon going to be just as big.Its a pain in the butt to find somewhere to put this thing because I change my windsheild from a low to a high from time to time so I can't put it on the windshield.Theres no other place it will really fit in the area they tell you to put it. :cussing:

Do you have any pictures of what the permits look like? Could you post a pic? Thanks a lot!

I always thought they were big and somewhat gaudy so they could be easily noticed in trailside "spot checks". If it's big and unique looking, it's easy to spot.

Yup thats why they are so big so the trail wardens don't have to stop you because they can easily see it ( I'm talking about as you slowly drive by them at a check point) :D

I think one of the reasons the permits are so big are to cover up that ugly yellowish sled cutout permit we had. At the time my friends said the next year that the OFSC was going to go back to the small permit  :withstupid: & wouldn't that look great.
Also, maybe the MTO ran out of commercial vehicle inspection stickers?
Yes it does create a problem for those sledders that switch windshields. But then again, we've never accused the government of having a clue about snowmobiling. I could go on, but...

I tried to post a pic of the actual permit but I can't scan it,I think because it is chrome/reflective.Anyways I just measured it and it is 4 inches long and 3 inches high.It is chrome like I was saying and it has an orange border with 2003 in big orange numbers on it.The last couple of years I have put it on my sled justs below the windshield at the back edge of the hood. ( Just behind the ROTAX 670).Its not within the range of where they tell you to put it,but its easily visable from the left side of the sled where they check for your license anyway.

I haven't rode in many places, but I like the way wyoming does it the best, they just have a small yellow square that you put in the center of your windshield, doesn't look stupid and doesn't take up alot of room but its still noticable.

That was what the Ontario permit used to look like. The colour changed each year.
