I have a stuped question. What is a slider? I know it's on the bottom half of the track but was does it do? My mechanic said I should replace in the next 1000 miles or so. Is it an expensive part? Thx.

The sliders are the plastic pieces on your rails to your suspention, they are not that expensive, you just have to pull out your suspention to put them in.

"Sliders",, are also known as "Slides", and "Hi-Fax",,, they are the replaceable plastic compnent between your suspention skid, and your track clips. They help to lubricate the friction of your track as it rolls.

Cheap orriginal equiptment replacements, and aftermarkets start at around 10-20 dollars a piece,, and specialized "Low Friction" types can run up to $160 per pair.

Depending upon the size of the "Windows" in your track, you can change them out with or without removeing your suspention, though removing your suspention is reccomended. Doing that makes lubing your suspention, and checking for overplay, and loose bearings on your attached idler wheels much easier, and accessible.

They're also a favorite luchtime meal from Wager's Poolhall in Owatonna, Mn. Although I'd imagine most town's have their own "sliders"
