Hi,

I have a quick question for you,

Why do you want to set the timing at 23 BTDC?

This sled has dynamic timing function and should be set at 28 deg BTDC at 3000 RPM.

Timing will retard to 13 deg BTDC at 6000 RPM.

If you set your sled 23 deg retarded from stock you will never make any real horsepower at 8000 RPM and thats where the pipes are tuned for.

Perhaps your running aftermarket pipes that need to run at +9000 RPM?

Anywhow, if you want factory race set-up, you set your timimg mark (static check) from the manual at 0.187 BTDC and run the engine between 3000 and 3500 RPM, the spark advance will be stable at this range.

Set a new static timing mark at 0.087 and recheck it at 7000 RPM, all this with engine at room temperature.

If you can, get a Ferret Instrument T84 timing gun with the spark change function, this will make the process much faster to check, you will also be able to map out your curve.

Let me know if you need help with this procedure.

Good luck!
