ya thats right, i got 2600km's on my rev 600 sport up here in canada, and the other night i was going along at full throttle for about 30 sec, then id let off and as it was coming down, i could see and hear a backfire coming from the exhaust. it did this a few times, will see if it does it again tomrorrow but what could cause this?
I have egt's and they are running normal at about 1120 at full throttle, this is at about -5 to -10 celcius.
anyone have any clue what causes this. all i did was open my pilot screws about half a turn to make it more rich in idle, would this cause it? anyone let me know.
thanks
chris

running rich causes more unburned gases to enter the exhaust chamber, at some point they ignite causing the backfire.
I usually run my sleds with a slightly higher idle than normal and when I shut down I get the same problem, unburned gases igniting in the exhaust causing a bang!
BTW - congrants on the 2600km's sounds like its going to be a big season for you!
I am assuming no problems so far? The REV seems to be a VERY reliable machine! Ha ha to all those that didn't buy one this year worried about first year problems...!! Man are they missing one hell of a good time!

Mine does the same thing, not all of the time though.....And it is not normal to do for break-in. I have almost 400 miles logged and some 15-20 hours. I suspect some other problems which iI to am looking into. Just out of curiosity, does your 600 choke a little when riding slow....?

1120 sure sounds awful rich at WOT , and why would you richin up the idle?
