you posted about cudney kit did you ever get it to work? i got a 2000 mach z rer, cudney helix and spring on (secondary) and its running hot reaaal hot !! he said I need more pin weight so just got thunder heavy pin kit. they claim I need to have 20-22 grams on the pin I weighed the pin the was on it. It's 21 grams already(stock)???? the motor is mild port, crankshop headcut gasket.primary Kenitic clutch titianium arms balanced. secondary is kinetic machined and balanced cudney helix and spring.it put a welt on my hand cause the clutch was so hot. just put in 22.5 grams of thunder kit to see if any changes clicker is on #3 rpm is 8300.

I always ran 23 gram pins in mine with dynoport pipes. Never had belt problems or clutches getting hot after installing them.

clutches are still hot with 23.1 gram should i keep going higher or ditch the titianium arms? thunder products said they don't work well on mach's said to go back to stock or buy their arms, quote " if you wanna hang with the big boy's" getting smoked by srx and mach z's

MILLENNIUM MAN, my motor is stock so clutching would be different than mine.
I ditched the whole Cudney, he told me to add pin weight also but that did nothing. The whole primary is back stock except for 18.5 pin weight and #2 clicker.
Changed secondary helix to a 53/47 to help stop the over rev from a 53/44 cranked up the tention to 26# break and geared it down 3 on top. Last year with Cudney's kit I was lucky to see 100 in a mile run and smok'in clutches. Now she hits a hundred in 800' with nice cool clutches. Were talk'in a long paddle track here too. I still have a Cudney yellow spg. and red secondary spg. left for sale....

P.S. get your secondary spg. tention up, this 16-18# stuff is no good!

Just as I thought you are a real clutch guru there Mikadoo, you can't set the spring tension on an RER secondary.

Sorry Bill, certainly not a clutch guru, just saying what works for me.

Not being a smarta$$ here but if you have to run 26lbs on any secondary on any snowmobile other than a roller secondary you are missing out on acceleration also.

you start winding the beige up much over 20 and its starts to bind on the hub in the cam, Id jump up to a white

Goodwin Blue is my personal choice for the secondary, not sure if that will work on the rer's though, what helix are u running now Millinium Man?? almost sounds like to much helix = belt slippage, u sure u running a blue-green spring, 130-260 ? or green blue 200-290 this was the stock spring.I wouldn crank the secondary up either, but dont hurt to try, almost sounds like to much helix to me what cam is in there.

helix is a 52/46 red spg. And the primary spring is green/blue stock. yes there is ti arms in it, few people said to ditch these go to stock. not trying to start a thing here between people, I was not aware that idooski was not a RER these are totally different animals. Bill has been great help to me VIA phone this is an erorr on my part cause Bill had no idea i had ti arms they are good for drags but that is it. just trying to get all the help and info i can get.

Millenium Man, I think your starting to see where you need to go with the clutch. First, the RER secondary is fantastic. Bill, sold you a helix that is 1 step up from the stock helix so it "shouldn't" be a problem BUT, every sled must be tuned in. First, I would return your primary to the complete stock set up. It is a VERY good factory tuned set up. Once you do that, you will probably find that your clutch problems are over and the secondary set up Bill gave you is fine. Your clutches will still get mighty warm on a long pull but not super hot. Bill has had very good luck with minimal changes on the RER scondary for the Mach Z. He sold you the "right" stuff, it should ROCK once you get the primary back to normal. Let me know how it goes. I haven't seen an RER Mach Z that hasn't been phenominal in performance. Keep me informed. Thanks!

MILLENNIUM MAN, If it were me, I would talk to Bill Cudney and ask him what to do. Go with what Bill tells you to do, and fine tune it from there. Most sleds run a little different, and you still have to tune it yourself. Bill has always been supportive to my questions, and knows what needs to be done to make it work. This guy is a book of knowledge, and is "very" helpful with his products. Give him a call, it may take awhile, but I assure you it will work. I would go back the setup that worked with his clutch setup, which is a "known". Otherwise, you will be like a dog trying to chase his own tail. LOL,,,,, I know, I used to do that.

Thanks guys, I'll keep ya posted on my project I bought this sled last season with 300 miles on it and at 1000mi it blew it had wiesco pro lites, top ring came off on "all" pistons took it all apart. So I rebuilt it this past summer re-nick all the cylinders new stock pistons etc. it ran great for drags but it fell on its face after that. But they were some big drag racing team out of W virgina, thats were the ti arms and set up came from. So I have get all stock set up part's from dealer and friends.
