Whats up guys ! I ran out of mods to do to my 01 MXZ 800 so i bought the fiance a new 2003 REV 600 H.O. Had a couple of questions. We dont have snow here yet so i cant do any testing. First, do you guys run the carb heat on or off and at what temp do you turn them on, i have heard a few different ways. Second, has everyone found the 1 inch to be sufficient or could it use a 1 1/4. Also, any other observations that all you snow having people have, feel free to enlighten me. (jetting) ETC. I think she will like it from what i have seen and heard. SWRules

I myself have a rev 600. Its a great sled. I have had a little loading on low end that I am working on right now, but this is a minor problem. The manual states the temps for the heated carbs, I beleive you leave them on up to 40 degrees, but check.Learn your fuel mileage with the trip meter, as the fuel gauges are junk..........I get about 120 miles per tank. Remember your mileage will be less during break-in. This is a snappy sled and a great new ride. Everything you have heard about the ride is true.I have logged almost 500 miles on mine now in upstate N.Y...............Good luck with it.

Leave heated carbs off until temp goes down below 5 deg...thats what the book says... this will also help starting when warm...

I have two rev x's, 800 and 600... Both have 1.25 tracks, and hook up great, glad I got them... Trouble is you can't stud them yet... They need studded... I may install 7 tooth drivers for clearence then change gearing... Installing Cudney cluthes in both this weekend and boyseen reeds and reed spacers in 800... Leaving for Quebec sunday will report when I return on performance updates... Leave your heated carbs off till temps are around zero, will be hard starting if you leave on during higher temps... Good luck on new sled...

Can't tell ya about the 600, but I can tell you to leave the carb heat OFF!!!
If left on in warm temps (even 20 is to warm) you'll have one heck of a time re-starting. The heat bouils the fuel in the float bowl and floods the thing.

once again the manual says heaters on to 41degrees ( F ) , 5 degrees ( C ). Im not sure if thats what these other guys are talking about or if they just live in canada and use that system. Mabye they are speaking of an experience they had. I have followed the manual, and never had a problem page 57 in 2003 ski-doo zx manual, and that is also the rev. manual, which is what I also have.

Turn the heaters on all the way up to 5 degree Celsius? Wouldnt they then be on pretty well all the time? Last I heard, snow melts at 0. My dealer said to turn them on at -20 Celsius or if you are riding in alot of snowdust. Hasnt been that cold here yet :( so I have yet to turn them on... its waayyy to warm here... roads are all sloppy... it might melt all the snow

My dealer also told me to turn them on at temps lower than -20 C. It doesn't make any sense to me to turn them on when the temperatures are around or above freezing.

I was also told that fuel economy would decrease if I turned on the heated carbs. Does anyone else have any input on this?

I tell everyone to leave them off until you need them, you'll notice on a cold morning that it will run rich on low end and try and foul a plug, just pop the hood turn them on for about couple of minutes and you'll notice it will clear up, then the next time you stop shut them back off, theres enough under hood temp after that to keep them clear
