    Hello Thumbdoctor!
I've been following some of your posts here and other places (dootalk for one) and I'm curious if you have done much performance work with the Rotax 537 engine. I have one that I want to build up and was hoping you could give me some hints in regards to performance. If you wish, you can email me at - harveys3@yahoo.ca.....looking forward to hearing from you.

    Regards,
    Doug

I've been following your thread on the series III rotax rebuild. First, Happy belated B-day. Second, I really appreciate the vital info that is not always in a manual. The main reason I'm messaging is I'm looking for some clarity on the "white grease" you use for assembling the carbs. Why not lithium, does it corade the jets? I found some from amsoil that I think is comparable. here is a discription

Synthetic X-Treme Food Grade Grease (GXC)
(NLGI #2, USDA H-1 High Temperature EP)
AMSOIL X-Treme Synthetic Food Grade Grease is an ultra-premium aluminum complex grease designed for high levels of protection in food service and pharmaceutical industry equipment. USDA H-1 rated for incidental contact with food.

Is this what I'm looking for?

    Thank you, danman1672

Hello I was doing an internet search and it led me to this link http://www.snowmobileworld.com/forum...ad.php?t=68270

Where you were talking about a sled not having spark after a couple days of it not having the correct tether. Is there any where in Ski doo papers that I can prove this? I have a 1998 Formula III 700 and do not have the tether to it and no spark. I was told that I have to get it running in order to have it programed and the local dealer will not do anything else with it until I have it running. If it is tru that I will not have spark until I have a correct tether, I would really like to find something, service manual, memo, etc. from Ski doo talking about this so that I can go into the local dealer and try to get my sled running.
Please either get back to me on here, or if you could send me an email at
woodychevy38s@aim.com it would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks in advance
    Chris

Hi, I was wondering if you could help me out a little? I have read some of your posts on here and you seem real knowledgeable about skidoo.
Well i'm restoring a '91 Mach 1-X. I have most of the X parts except for the mag side pipe. I'm working on trying to find another one or another set.
Could you give me some advice on the best way to set up the sled overall? Such as what could I do to the engine and suspension. I did find a set of fox front shocks for it. Probably need them re-valved.
I have the F.A.S.T "approach to performance" videos and the "tuning the mikuni carb" video. I have learned a lot from that. Just wondering if there is anything else I can do.
The main thing is I want to keep it trail reliable.
Anything you can tell me would be much appreciated.
    -Matt
