Question 1979 Yamaha excel v

Hey. I just recently got a 79. Excel v. It runs great for about 10-15 minutes and then bogs down. I am ordering the choke piece hoping that it is just flooding itself when it warms up. Any informatipn would be helpful. Also I am missing the gas tank, seat, and cargo box. Does any one know of a snowmobile wrecker that may have these parts located near southern Manitoba?

Start it up and spray WD 40 between the clutch and the crank case, If the motor revs up then the seals need to be replaced. Keep in mind this could be a crank bearing problem to because when the bearings get start to go they take out the seals.

Check where your gas lines are routed - if they are too close to the engine you could be vapor-locking. Also, check the throttle over ride system, or TORS - they short out all the time and can cause the problem you are describing.
