my old artic cat will not stay running unless i keep priming it,,,i can run it around the yard if a keep priming it while i drive...not sure but is this sled suppose to have double carb, cause mine only has 1,,
Your seals may be dry and cracked which might make the intake charging of the case difficult. It could also be a compression problem related to worn rings or cylinder walls. This, assumes that the carb - a single one is fine on the motor as long as it is correctly set up- is all clean and working properly. The fuel pump is another part to consider since an old pump may not be pumping as well as it should.

On my '87 El Tigre the fuel lines got hard and shrunk from age. They no longer formed a good seal with anything and sucked in so much air it was almost impossible to start. I could watch the air bubbles moving through the lines as I was trying to start the engine. I have new fuel line but haven't put it on yet (got a new sled instead so the old one just sits).
