Default 98 powder special 600 no spark

my girlfriend just bought a powder special efi for $600. the kid she bought it from said that it needed a new fuel pump and was hard to start because of that. so we took it home and I pulled it a bunch. nothing. dumped some gas down the holes and ripped it few times. nothing. so I checked the spark and there was none. then I noticed gas coming out of the y-pipe joint... the kill switch/throttle safety wire was unplugged, so that's not the problem. any ideas as to why there's no spark? p.s it's snowing as we speak, so I really want to get this thing going

I thought arctic cat needs the whole electrical system hooked up like it had a closed circuit, did you try jumping the kill switch wires?

The efi has a open circuit ignition and the carbed has the closed ignition (read that on another forum)
