Depends what your type of riding your gona do, trail could just drop a few sizes on top gear or mtn your gona want to gear for around 85 mph, atleast thats what i did with my 151 rmk

A 2008 700 Polaris (about 140 hp) RMk 163 x 2-1/4in has a 19T x 41T gearing set up.

I don't know if a 41 will fit in your chaincase.

I have looked on the Polaris site. You have said you have a Polaris Ultra. Don't know exactly what Model or year.. I looked at a 1997 XLT RMK Polaris shows THAT RMK HAD OPTIONS UP TO A 40T and Down to an 18T,

Look at the Polaris site and see if your sled has the same chain case number.

On one of the other posts there was a recommendation not to go smaller than 19.

Depends on your availability of gears and how much you want to invest in multiple gearing experiments.

You need to buy a chain. Buy one that will fit a 20/40 and that will also work down to 18/40.

I don't ever recall using an 18 BUT I'm a flat lander.

I had an 08 163 700 RMK and that came with 20/41 but had about 130/5 hp.
