my 02 zr 800 "carb" was sittin on the trialor for 8 days. i was away unfortunettly but 2 weeks when it the temp was always -25 - 35 c. the day it was around -15 c. when i did get home to start my sled, it took 3 pulls. i couldnt believe it. frigg i always rode 600 trips before this sledd and they start so friggin hard. i am amzed at how easy the cat 800's start.

I was in the Munising area last Saturday-Tuesday of this week. I took my 02 ZR 800 efi and only got to ride it Saturday morning. All 4 shocks took a dump. It looked like a low rider, sitting only 2 inchs from the ground all the way around. The sled only had 400 miles on it when this happened. I eneded up renting a polaris xc 500sp for the remainder of the trip.

My buddy has a 02' XC SP 500 and it starts very hard all the time too. My 96 ZR580 starts 2nd or 3rd pull no matter what (but it's fuel injected)

I love riding his XC but It rattles and shakes quite a bit and takes 5-7 pulls at least to start. I'd still buy one though (if I wasn't so Cat biased ), It's a really nice sled though.

Deep luggs, same thing with my '01 carb...damn thing always starts on second pull...gotta love that first half pull though just to let the thing know you're gonna start pulling!! My buddy's ProX600 always started pretty easy, can't remember any problems with it. I guess it's a different 600 than the other Poo's.

Why would it low-ride if your shocks blew? Your springs are what holds up your sled, not the shock absorbers (besides a little bit from gas pressure). It would bottom constantly, but should sit at near normal height.

Not if they're frozen in a down position.
