Thinking about buying a new Summit Rev. Most of my riding will be in Michigan (no mountains), but my major concern is whether the narrower ski stance (5 inches) will make the Summit Rev tippy for trail riding. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would be more worried about overheating, wearing out slides like crazy, and tearing paddles off. The summit is not really made for trail riding.

I wouldnt buy a Summit. I live and ride in Michigan and lower Michigan just doesnt really get the snow needed for that kind of sled. Get the Blair REV, I did.

Wait for next yr, I`m hoping they release a Rev Renagade with adjustable ski stance and with something less than 2" lugs. That would be the perfect overall sled

I have a 2003 800ho Summit. It handles like a Mac truck on the trails and hard packed roads. When you get out in the powder and stllp mountain riding then that is another story. The sled handles like a dream and will take you any place. The narrow ski stance is great for this. On trails or hard packed, the wider the ski stance the better. If you are not going up to the Summit ( top of the mountain) then do not get a Summit..... Hope this helps your choice but bottom line is ......
Get what you want but pick wisely...I do have adjustable ski stance, but you better have the tools and about one hour to do the job...

Look reat close at those adjustable ski stances. On mine you have to, remove the skis, remove the top of the ski shaft with O ring pliers, remove then turn 180, replace ring, then replace the skis...With all the tools it is something to tackle while on the road...Takes about one hour to do this at home on the trailer... not a fun job in the snow...
one more thing..this only increases stance by two or three inches...total
