You definitely have something wrong, what was it running before the clutch kit?

Well, I never had a chance to check top end cause I was so disgusted with only pulling 7000 r's with a BM kit that the sled came with and I heard so many good things about EPI,so I put that on and got my rpm's right at 8300 and they stay there thru out.

I agree, something's wrong with the Zert. Even if the 550 gets you out of the hole, you should be by it and gone as soon as you hit midrange. It sounds like you got it used. Has the gearing been messed with?

I guess it is possible the previous owner did,but I am not sure.I did have to put the air box back to stock cause he gutted it and I jetted to 300's.

From your avitar it looks like you have an APV zert. It would be a good idea to take a look at that and also pull the chain case cover off and findout what gears are in there. BUT, if you are geared to only top out at 90mph you should come out of the hole like crazy, so there is still something screwy going on. The only way your clutching would cause you to top out at 90mph (given you are running stock gears) is if your clutches are binding, broken spring, or extremely worn belt. Make sure your APV isn't all gummed up.

300's, that's way too lean. Stock is 360 and I get perfect wash at 330.

It is an apv, sorry my avatar sucks, how do use guys get yours so clean?,anyway, springs and all clutching is brand new.I checked apv's when i first got it and all three return when i test pull on the cables when they are undone from servo.I do have one cable though that looks like it has slack in it?Tonite i,m going to pull chain case I guess just for the goof.I also got a new belt to slap on,what do u think of an Ultimax versus an AC -020 belt?

What belt you use is up to you. Some swear by the OEM belts and other the aftermarket. I personaly prefer the Ultimax 2 belts, but either will be fine. Your cables for the APV can appear to open and close all the way but still be gummed up on the inside. Do you know what oil was run in the sled by the previous owner? Let us know what gears you find in there also.
When was the last time your sled was in for regular maint. such as belt alignment/deflection, carbs cleaned, etc.? You could have a combination of simple things compounding your problems.
