I recently put a single pipe on my pro x 800. Bought it from slp. Decided to pipe it because it was a dog stock. So I put on the single pipe, mtx weights(71g) roller helix(70/50), and both springs. Changed the jetting and expected alot. But when i raced my dads 600 prox it didn't beat it. They were dead even. Just like when it was stock. It would pull ok to 70mph and then run out of speed. I checked the clutches and they weren't shifting all the way out. About 5/8 from the top. So I thought maybe I'll try to gear down a couple of teeth to see if maybe that was the problem. Nope. So then I took a feeler guage and measured the clearence from the belt to the face of the primary clutch. There was very little clrearence at all, maybe .006". And you are suppose to have between .01-.02". So I pulled the clutch apart and put another shim in under the spyder. Went out and rode and that mother @*%$!# pulled. So that was the only problem the hole time. Belt clearence.

Hey POLAR801, you reading this. Good job sprinkler guy! How'd that go with that pipe (speedo) I did radar runs this weekend and my '03 xc 700 speedo was within a mile per hour of the gun, I guess they stopped makin' them "happy".( or I had perfect hookup) I topping out at 110 mph on speedo.(probably a little further out at that point)
