I have ski skins on steel skis on my Indy 500. I was out riding yesterday going through some tall weeds and they would get stuck between the ski skins and the skis. Well, that seperated the skin fromt the ski a little bit. Then, at a road crossing I heard a strange scraping noise coming from my ski. The skin folded under the ski and was dragging. I stopped and pulled it back out. No big deal. When I got home both skis got two bolts at the top of the ski to prevent this from happening again. When I first put the skins on, I had put a rivot in them, but then decided no to put it back after I changed out my carbides. Just an FYI for anyone putting on ski skins.
