Popped a piston on the Mag side of my Mach,, 3 days ago.
I was on a tight trail that came out to a 3 foot snow drift and i had no where to go around it an 6 sleds behind me.
i decided to crack it to get through it but forgot my vents were open
the snow dust was so thick it almost took me off the sled but what it did do was take in a large amount of snow that made it to the pistons and popped one.
Cartronics said i had water in all three carbs and i was lucky i only lost one.
its funny thought, itis snowing like crazy here and i have no sled.
it sucks

I take it you took all the snow filters off? There is only one way in for the snow and that's behind the windshield. Having the vents open makes no diff. if everything that came with the sled is there.
I have packed so much snow in the filters powder riding the sled could'nt breathe anymore and started choking itself with raw fuel and fouling plugs.

dont let machzzzzzz1 see this thread he will never accept that a mach blew up no matter how it happened and it may put him in the emergency room from a panic attack if this is confirmed!
He will need serious counceling when he finally accepts what happened. Just a thoughtfull warning for machzzzzzz1!

Cartronics got it done late today. It cost me 430 canadian. only one piston needed to be replaced.
Mikadoo what does your filter look like.
The one in mine that i am referring to is the one on the top of the air box.
i hit the drift so hard that when i stopped and lifted the hood the filter was laying on top of the exhaust pipes.
But the filter looks so porous that snow would just pass by.
to discrbe the filter i would say it looked like a piece of scotch scratch pad used on auto body work.
