Oh Man!!!! That's an easy question, your leaning your motor out when it's cold. Most all sleds will do it apon start up if you gas it. I know how cold it is out by how long I can leave the choke on my ULtra SPX before she bogs oout and dies. 1 1/2 minutes one night, brrrrrrrrrrrrrr was it cold. Just let your sled warm up and it should be fine. I usually start my triple with two pulls choke on and give it a bit of gas once she fires up and hold it at 3 or 4 grand for about 10 seconds. Turn choke off and she'll idle all day long.

i could be wrong but i was once told that happens if you dont let your sled come to a complete idle for a few minunites after riding. If you dont let it go to an idle when you turn it off all the gas has not been burned completly and then when it starts and fires that is the extra gas burning up just a thought.

Also it coul d b a sign of need ing new plugs because my sled will backfire and b hard to keep running this is a s gn of new plugs and the cold.... ill start my sled at -15 after it starts i choke it at full 3-10 seconds and than kick it off and it rins fine.. another sign of plugs is if wen it starts u cant keep it running.
