I WAS JUST WONDERING WUT PISTONS WERE THE BEST TO BUY. ARE KIMPEX PISTONS AS GOOD AS STOCK POLARIS. Just wondering because i just blew my sled up (XCR 440).

TRY S.P.I i know of a few sleds that are having problems with polaris pistons mine is on of them my machine shop guys tell me they have good luck with the spi pistons

said it before and ill say it again, u get what u pay for, Kimpex pistons are cheap. Now i know that oem are way over priced imo, few people have good luck with kimpex and many dont. I am using wiseco in mine and no problems so far. I have a set of Kimpex pistons and rings for a standard bore 488 (72mm i think) that have about 10 minutes of use on them sitting in a box for the last 2 seasons( its a long story)

well call me cheap, i have spi,spx pistons in my 700 twin polaris,2800 hard.hard miles this year,every bit as good as oem,now my luck with wiesco,not so good,in a 400 indy of all things,

I had Wiseco pistons put in my Grand Touring 600. Blew up after 400 miles. The shop said nearest they could figure is that the cylandars were not bored out enough. Turns out Wiseco pistons require in extra 5-10 thousands becaouse they expand more. Don't know if this was done by the guy who did mine. This scares me. OEM for me from now on.
