I really need your help!
I have a chance to buy a 2003 Rev 600X for a good price, with a full new warranty and extra goodies for a decent price. Or I can buy a new 2004 Rev 600X. Here are the details:
The 2003 is a factory demo, but I know the guy who rode it and it is well kept. It has the 440X handlebars, controls, windshield, and handlebar riser, as well as a goodwin clutch kit and ski-doo cover. It has 800 miles on it and will be sold as new with a full factory warranty for about $5750.
My other option is to buy a new 2004 snow check, REV 600X for about $7900 out the door. I want to buy the 800, but I know if I do, next year the 800 HO SDI will come out and I'll be pissed.
So my question to all of you is this: Do I live with the beaver-tail 03 (ugly) for next year and then look for a 2005 or used 2004, or should I step up and buy a 2004 which I know I will take a bath on it for resale value? I will be getting rid of my 2002 MXZ 700 Adreneline which I will be taking a bath on anyways, so I hate to keep buying brand new and only keeping it a short time. Even if I bought the 2003, I would also look to buy a 2004 used or a new 2005 anyways and give the 03 to my wife. So what do you guys think? I have to decide by 4/15 for the snow check...

Go with the 03 600, it's cheaper.

All depends on your true goals. If your plan is to get an 800HO SDI when it comes out then save your money now and buy used. Or if your planning to keep it for a couple of years might as well get the 04 600HO SDI w/ all the updates.

The only time the beaver tail revs have cooling problems is when you ride it on bare ground. I had no cooling issues with my rev.........and I had the temp guage to keep an eye on.
If you want a step forward in performance go with the 04 rev........they will flat out haul with the drive train improvements.
I put a goodwin kit on my rev 800 sport and it improved it alot over stock, mainly in mid-range acceleration to top end.
But when I ran my buddies blair morgan......which has the improvements that the 04's have he flat out smoked me bottom to top. Both of us had the 1.25" track.......and his was brand new so I'm certain it was still stock.
Ive also heard of some other blair revs smoking any 03 rev.
But if you are going to wait for the 800sdi in a rev.........then wait.
But one thing I've noticed nowaday's you can't wait for something that you want, cause soon as that arrives they make something you want even more!!

they seem to be loosing crank seal's around here. I think there are 4 at the shop now. they all went around 2000 -2500 K warranty work for now but for the guys who only put 1000 K on them this year , I would worry about next winter when the warranty is up..
I would go with the 04. I just wish they all had the suspension set up that the 440X has. rides nothin like any of the other REV's ... the Morgan don't even come close to the Ride of the 440X.

From what I have heard the 04's are quite a bit faster than the 03's because of the rolled chaincase and 10 tooth drivers. The 03 BM has the 10 tooth drivers too but I think thats the only 03 to have them.
