Guys, are they any differences w/ the tapers and/or attaching bolts? I know 'doo has used a couple of different TRA pullers over the years.

I don't know about the tapers for sure without doing some digging, but the rubber is to dampen vibration on the twins. It does work and I don't recommend putting a clutch on that doesn't have one if it is to be used on a twin.

one puller for 27mm shaft, one for the litedrive pulley, one square shaft SEA thread puller, one square shaft metric threads puller, one puller for 443,467,503,536,and 537 cc motors, and finally one puller for the 454,494,599,670,699,779,and 809 motors....
i am almost sure that if the machz and the mxz take the same puller to remove the clutch, the taper on the crank would be the same. ??? the attaching bolts should mimick the puller for each motor. i.e. different pullers for different thread and crank distances.

Tapers are the same, and all parts are interchangable

I have to dissagree.
The harmonic damper is designed to lessen the effect of the firing of the twin every 180 degrees. This is a must for the bearings to survive. It can be used without for a short period of time but don't expect the motor to last long. ROTAX has designed the bearing span and stiffness to encompass this extra dampening device. Without it large displacement vibrations are the norm as well as junk bearings in short order.
The taper of the shafts for 670/600 mxz/700 mxz/800 mxz/600 tripple/700 tripple/800 tripple are the same. The difference being in the case of the tripple is the firing sequence of 120 degrees apart. This by nature REALLY lessons the effect of harmful vibrations. Counter weights are smaller, bearing stiffness can be weaker, bearing span can be longer, ETC...
All you really need to do is change the govenor cup of the clutch you want with a govenor cup with a harmonic balancer.

i understand that, let's go to the other end of the motor , that big steel round piece that bolts to the flywheel , what would happen if you built one out of aluminum ?(spin easier)? i wonder how it would last?

GLH the non rubber hubed clutches have been used on the rotary valved twins for many years, and many tens of thousands of miles with no crank problems. Is this a series 111 thing?
